Get the most out of your hybrid trimmer
Get started with your hybrid trimmer
You can trim your beard and body hair with the steps below. We'll explain those steps in this article.
- Step 1: wash the body parts you want to trim
- Step 2: choose the right attachment
- Step 3: choose the right shaving length
- Step 4: trim your unwanted hairs
- Step 5: take care of your skin and the hybrid trimmer
Step 1: wash the body parts you want to trim
If you want to trim your beard, you should first wash it with lukewarm water. Is your trimmer suitable for body hair as well? Wash the body parts you want to trim. The lukewarm water causes your pores of your skin to open, which lifts the hairs. It also makes your hair softer and easier to shave as a result. Before you start, you should dry off the parts you're going to trim.
Step 2: choose the right attachment
If you want to shave or style your hair, use the trimmer without a comb attachment. If you want to keep your beard and slightly trim it, use a comb attachment. Want to trim your body hair as well? Use a special shaver blade and comb attachment for the body. Click the skin protector onto the trimmer for sensitive zones like your pubic area and armpits. That way, you can safely and comfortably trim all your unwanted hairs.
Step 3: choose the right shaving length
Without a comb attachment, you shave close to the skin. You just barely touch the skin. So you can still feel stubbles, but you won't see them. If you want a visible stubble beard, you can create it with a comb attachment with a shaving length between 0.4 and 3mm. For longer hair, choose a length starting at 3mm. Whether you have to switch attachments for every shaving length or can use 1 adjustable comb attachment with multiple shaving lengths depends on your trimmer.
Step 4: trim your unwanted hairs
With most trimmers, you can trim your hair dry, wet, or with shaving foam. You simply place the head of the trimmer flat on your skin, so it touches your skin directly. You can move the trimmer head over your skin in long strokes. Without a comb attachment, it doesn't really matter in which direction you move with most trimmers. If you trim with a comb attachment, you should move the trimmer against the growth direction of the hairs. And you can trim details like your sideburns, neck hair, and contours without a comb attachment.
Step 5: take care of your skin and the trimmer
You can detach the comb attachments from your trimmer and rinse them under the faucet after use. If the trimmer head of your trimmer is waterproof, you can also rinse the blade under the faucet. If your trimmer isn't waterproof, simply blow and wipe away the hairs from the blade. To shave hygienically, we recommend that you replace the blade in time. That's after about 4 months. When you're done trimming, you should take care of your beard with beard oil and your skin with a neutral body lotion.
