How do you fix a Miele dryer error?
Miele dryer errors
Every Miele dryer error message has a different cause:
- Clean plinth filter or F 066: the dryer is dirty and needs a clean.
- Empty water reservoir: the condenser reservoir is full of water.
- Blockage detected or 0:00: the laundry is stuck on 1 side of the drum.
- F with number combination: no known cause.
Notification 'clean plinth filter' or 'F 066'
Clean the dryer.
- Remove the lint trap located near the drum.
- Remove large pieces of dust, rinse the lint trap, and put it back.
- Press the button for the plinth trap at the bottom of the dryer.
- Pull out the plinth trap with the handle.
- Rinse the plinth trap and remove fluff from the handle.
- Vacuum the grid of the condenser with a vacuum brush.
- Force the moisture from the plinth trap and let it dry completely.
- Put the plinth trap back and press OK.
Notification 'empty reservoir'
The condenser reservoir is full.
- Remove the reservoir from the dryer.
- Empty it.
- Put the reservoir back.
- Do you have a drain hose? Check it for possible kinks.
- Close and open the door to clear away the error notification.
Notification 'blockage detected' or '0:00'
The laundry is unevenly distributed over the drum.
- Open the drum door.
- Shake up the laundry.
- Remove some laundry if the drum is too full.
- Turn the dryer off and on again.
- Start a cycle.
Notification F with number combination
If you see an F with a number combination (other than F 066), the cause of the issue isn't clear.
- Turn the dryer off and on.
- Start a cyle.
- If the notification persists, contact Miele.
Error 'empty reservoir' appears
When the light for the condenser reservoir comes on, the reservoir is full. Remove the reservoir from the dryer and empty it in the sink. When you put the reservoir back and start the dryer cycle, the notification should disappear. Is your dryer connected to the water drain and do you still see this error? Check the manual to learn how you can manually turn off the light. Also make sure there's no loop in the drain hose. The drain also shouldn't be higher up than 1m.
Problem not solved?
It may help to unplug the machine. Insert the plug back into the socket after 30 minutes and restart the dryer cycle. It's possible that your Miele dryer still shows an error code.
