How do you solve error notifications on Siemens coffee machines?

If your Siemens coffee machine shows error messages, there are different ways to solve them. In this article, we'll explain what to do if the coffee machine has to cool down. We'll also help you if the messages 'refill bean container' and 'descale' won't go away.

Error code 'please let appliance cool down'

Unplug the connector from the socket

The coffee machine has been used for too long, which caused it to overheat. If that's the case, turn off the coffee machine with the on/off button and unplug the connector from the socket. Wait at least 30 minutes before you plug it back in. After 30 minutes, the coffee machine should have cooled down.

Error code 'refill bean container'

You've just refilled the bean hopper, but you still see the error message 'refill bean container' on the display. That's because the beans get stuck in the bean hopper and don't reach the grinder. Decrease the grind size and softly tap against the bean hopper with your hand so the beans fall into the grinder.

Did that not work? Remove the beans from the bean hopper. You could use a vacuum for that, if necessary. Clean the inside of the bean hopper thoroughly with a dry cloth. It could be that the coffee bean you use are too greasy. After that, refill the bean hopper with coffee beans from a different brand or with a different type of coffee beans entirely.

Error code 'Descale' keeps appearing

If the message 'Descale appliance' keeps appearing, even though you've recently descaled the coffee machine? That means that there's too much limescale in the water or that the coffee outlet is clogged. In the future, make sure to use a water filter to filter limescale from tap water. And check if the water filter is properly secured. Check the manual for this and replace the water filter once every 3 months.

Did this not solve the problem? It's probably because of the coffee outlet. grab a needle or a skewer and poke through the holes the coffee pours out of. This should solve the problem.
