How do you solve connection problems with your Nextbase dash cam?
Restore connection with your dashcam
There are multiple things that might cause connection issues between your Nextbase dashcam and your smartphone. We'll give a step-by-step explanation on how to recover the connection.
- Step 1. Reset the connection
- Step 2. Install the app again
- Step 3. Update the firmware
Step 1: reset the connection
If you can't make a connection with your dashcam anymore, reset the connection. You can do this by removing the camera in the Bluetooth menu of your smart phone. Next, reset your dashcam to factory settings via the control panel. Click the settings icon and then on 'configuration'. Choose the 'factory reset'. The camera now restarts. Go through the setup of the camera. You'll make a connection with your smartphone in the 'app functions' step.
Step 2: install the app again
Does your dashcam still not connect with your smartphone after the reset? Remove the MyNextbase app from your phone. Download the app in the App Store or Google Play and install it again. After the installation, press the MyNextbase connect notification on the screen of the camera. Afterwards, open the app on your smartphone and click to connect. It now makes a connection.
Step 3: update the firmware
An outdated version of the firmware can also cause connection issues. Download the latest version of the firmware for your dashcam via the Nextbase website. Copy the firmware onto a formatted SD card and put it in the dashcam. Turn the dashcam on and the firmware installs automatically. This can take up to 60 seconds. After the installation, you'll reconnect to the MyNextbase app.
