How do you place the front panel on a built-in fridge with a door-on-door system?

You place a front panel of your kitchen on a built-in fridge so the appliance blends in well with your interior. Do you want to place the front panel yourself? In this article, you can read how to place the front panel on a built-in fridge with a door-on-door system in 3 steps.

The steps below differ per brand. Check the manual of your built-in fridge for any extra steps and the exact measurements.

  • Step 1: attach the mounting plate
  • Step 2: attach the metal side panels
  • Step 3: place the front panel on the fridge door

Step 1: attach the mounting plate

Make sure that the front panel is on a table or worktop and protected with a towel, for example. Put it down it with the inside of the panel facing up. Measure where you have to place the mounting plate with a tape measure. Mark the spot with a pencil and place the hinges on the plate and secure everything with the included screws.

Step 2: attach the metal side panels

After that, measure the spot of the metal side panels. These have to be placed on the side of the fridge door. Once you've marked everything, secure the panels with the included screws.

Step 3: place the front panel on the fridge door

Once you've secured everything with screws, you can mount the panel to the fridge door. If the panel isn't straight, you can adjust it with the screws. Is everything to your liking? Secure the front panel well with the mounts. You've now placed the front panel on your fridge door.
