How do you get your Krups Evidence ready for use?

Before you can start making coffee with your new coffee machine, you have to make it ready for use in 3 steps. We'll go through these steps with you:

• Step 1. Connect the machine
• Step 2. Set the water hardness
• Step 3. Install the water filter

You need:

• Water hardness test strip
• Container of at least 600ml
• Water filter

1. Plug the connector into the socket.
2. Take the manual and the milk tube out of the bean hopper, and take the water filter from the water tank.
3. Press the power button to turn the machine on.
4. Select the right language with the arrow keys and press 'ok' to confirm.
5. Set the measuring unit to 'ml' and press 'ok'.
6. Set the time. Choose between AM/PM or 24 hours, and press 'ok'. Set the current time with the arrow keys and press 'ok' to confirm.
7. Set the date and press 'ok'.
8. You'll get the option to turn the machine on at a fixed time. Choose between 'yes' and 'no'. Confirm with 'ok'.
9. In the end, you'll get the option to make the machine turn off after a number of minutes. Set the time to 30 minutes, for example, and press 'ok'.

1. Set the water hardness with the included water hardness test strip.
2. Fill a glass with water and submerge the test strip for 5 seconds.
3. Let the strip rest for 1 minute and check the water hardness.
4. The number of red blocks on the test strip indicates the water hardness level.
5. Set the water hardness on the display and press 'ok'.
6. The machine asks for an automatic rinse. Press 'yes' and then 'ok'.

1. The display shows 'filter'. Press 'yes' to set up the water filter. Press 'ok' to confirm'.
2. Take the water tank from the machine and fill it with water up to 'max'.
3. Take the water filter and twist the ring on the water filter ahead 2 months. This way, the second number shows the month in which you need to replace the water filter.
4. Click the attachment onto the water filter and twist the water filter onto the bottom of the water tank.
5. Place the water tank back into the coffee machine.
6. Place container of at least 600ml under the coffee outlet.
7. Press 'ok' to rinse the water filter. This way, the machine rinses automatically.
8. As soon as the notification 'installation water filter complete' appears, your Krups Evidence is ready for use.
