How do you set up a Bosch EasyControl CT200?
Get started with the Bosch thermostat
Follow the steps below to install the thermostat.
- Step 1: prepare for the installation
- Step 2: connect the power
- Step 3: set up the thermostat
Step 1: prepare for the installation
Before you start, you turn off the power to your heating system. Check if the power is actually turned off by turning on the heating. If the boiler doesn't start working, it's not getting any power. Next, you also unplug the connector of the boiler from the socket. Find a place within 3m of your boiler where you can install the EasyControl adapter. Mount the adapter to the wall. Take a photo of the wiring of the old thermostat first, because you'll need it later on. After, you can attach the thermostat.
Step 2: connect the thermostat to power
Option 1: you have an EMS or IRT system
In the manual of your heating system, you can see which system your boiler uses. Follow this option if you have an EMS or IRT system. In that case, you connect the 2 cables that emerge from your heating system to port 4 that says EMT IRT. Next, you connect the cables that led to the thermostat to port 2.
Option 2: you have a different type of boiler
Follow this option if you don't have an EMS or IRT system. In this case, you connect the cables to the COM NO and NC ports on the left side of the EasyControl Adapter via a relay. If you don't know how to do this, we recommend you call in a technician.
Step 3: set up the thermostat
Once you turn the power for your boiler back on, the adapter will automatically start the setup. This setup is finished once the LED light of the adapter remains green. The thermostat will also start working when you turn its power supply back on. In order to set this up, you connect the thermostat to your WiFI network. You can now operate the thermostat directly and via the app. With the Bosch EasyControl app, you can set the thermostat remotely as well. Don't forget to download it.
