How do you descale your De'Longhi Dinamica?
Get started with descaling
In the video, we'll explain how to descale your De'Longhi step by step. These are the steps we'll go through:
- Step 1. Start the descaling.
- Step 2. Rinse the machine.
You need:
- De'Longhi EcoDecalk descaler
- 1.8L container
How often should you descale?
If you replace the De'Longhi water filter in time, you only have to descale the coffee machine once ever 2 or 3 months. Do you not use a water filter? Keep in mind that you'll have to descale your machine more often. Your coffee machine will ask you to do this automatically. How often this happens depends on the water hardness of your tap water and the number of coffees you make per day. For a thorough and safe cleaning, it's best to use the De'Longhi EcoDecalk.
Step 1: start the descaling
- Turn on the machine.
- Open the menu on your coffee machine, press 'settings', go to 'maintenance', and press 'OK'.
- Press 'OK' again to start the descaling.
- Detach the water tank, empty it, and remove the water filter.
- Fill the water tank with descaling agent up to level 'A' and with water up to level 'B'.
- Put the water tank back in the machine.
- Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and put them back.
- Place a 1.8L container below the steam wand and the coffee spout.
- After, you can press 'OK' to start the descaling.
Step 2: rinse the machine
- After 25 minutes, the coffee machine will stop descaling.
- Detach and empty the water tank. Clean it with tap water.
- Fill the water tank up to 'MAX' with fresh tap water and put it back in the machine. Press 'OK'.
- Empty the container that's below the coffee machine and put it back. Press 'OK'.
- Press 'OK' to start rinsing.
- When the water tank is completely empty, you fill it back up to 'MAX' with water. Press 'OK' for a second rinse.
- Empty the container, put it back, and confirm with 'OK'.
- Empty the drip tray and put it back.
- Press 'OK' 2 times in a row to finish rinsing.
