How do you reset your GoPro camera?

There's something wrong with your GoPro camera. This might be caused by the settings of the device. To find out if that's the case, you'll have to reset the device. In this article, we'll explain in a few short steps how to reset a GoPro action camera.

Step 1: turn on your GoPro camera

Turn on GoPro for reset

First, you have to turn on your GoPro camera. Do this with the button on the side of the device that says 'Mode'. Press and hold the button for a couple of seconds before releasing it. The camera is turned on if you hear a beep and see an image on the screen.

Step 2: bring up the settings menu

You'll now head to the menu where you can change the settings of the GoPro camera. You do this by swiping downwards from the top of the screen. The menu you need will now appear.

Step 3: choose the right option in the menu

GoPro factory reset

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the settings menu until you see the options 'Camera Defaults' and 'Factory Reset'. With the first option, you can reset all of your settings apart from the date and time, your user name, and the password of your camera. Choose 'Factory Reset' if you want to reset everything. Your camera will also be disconnected from your GoPro account. You won't loose your photos and videos with either option. Click 'Factory Reset' and then 'Reset'. You know the reset was successful if you hear a beep and the camera restarts.
