Get started with the Dyson V11 stick vacuum

You've bought a new Dyson V11 stick vacuum and want it to last as long as possible. With these 4 tips, you can get the most out of your new vacuum. This way, you know exactly what to keep in mind before, during, and after you vacuum to get your floors squeaky clean.

Get started with the Dyson V11

With these tips, you're off to a flying start with your new Dyson D11 stick vacuum.

Tip 1: calibrate the battery

Tip 2: empty and clean the dust collector and filter in time

Tip 3: keep the main brushes clean

Tip 4: attach the accessory clip

Tip 1: calibrate the battery

Charge Dyson V11 battery

The vacuum lasts 60 minutes on a full battery. It's very important that you fully charge the battery when you charge it for the first time. This is to calibrate the battery, so the remaining time on the display stays accurate. A 60-minute battery life is long, but it's good to have a spare battery. That's why the battery of the Dyson V11 is replaceable. This means that you can double the battery life.

Tip 2: empty and clean the dust collector and filter in time

Clean the dust collector

Empty and clean dust collector

An empty dust collector contributes to the suction power of your stick vacuum. If it's empty, the dirt isn't in the way of the air flow and your filters won't clog unnecessarily. That's why you should empty the dust collector regularly. Simple press the red lever down over the trash can. If the dust collector looks dusty after a while, you can detach it completely and wipe it off with a damp cloth. Make sure to dry it off well before you reattach it.

Dyson HEPA filter

Clean and replace filter

Is it time to replace the filter? The vacuum notifies you via the LCD screen. On the screen, you can view exactly what you need to do. It shows you how to remove the filter, clean it, and dry it. Make sure you regularly remove dust from the filter in between cleaning sessions. That way, you don't have to replace the filter as soon.

Tip 3: keep the main brushes clean

Clean Dyson torque drive

Torque floor attachment

The torque floor attachment if the smart main brush of the Dyson V11. It automatically adjusts the suction power to the surface if you vacuum in the eco mode. This ensures the suction power remains constant. You should regularly check if there's built-up dirt on the main brushes. This is to prevent the brush from breaking and to maintain the good suction power. You can detach the brush by disconnecting the cover on the side of the brush.

Dyson V11 fluffy brush

Fluffy brush

You can detach the fluffy brush in the same way as the torque floor attachment. The soft brush roll was made for fragile floors. This way, you won't scratch your floors. Dirt often gets stuck around the rotating mechanism of the fluffy brush. The easiest way to remove it is with scissors.

Tip 4: attach the accessory clip

Accessory clip

You can attach the accessory clip to the stick of the Dyson V11. You can then attach the small accessories to it, such as the crevice tool and the multi-surface tool. You'll always have them on hand while you're vacuuming as a result. You can also turn the stick vacuum into a handheld vacuum in no time, and attach the small accessories thanks to the practical click system. And the wall mount you can hang your Dyson on has room for 2 accessories as well.
