First impression of the Tractive GPS dog and GPS cat
The Tractive GPS dog 4 and GPS cat come in a cheerful little box. Inside, I find a GPS tracker, charging cable, name stickers, a quick start guide, and a collar in the cat version. The trackers have a smooth design, so they're not harmful to your pet. The setup of the Tractive app and options for subscriptions are easy and clear. After charging it, the tracker is ready for use.

The app is available for Android and iOS. After installing the app, you can make a profile for your dog or cat with a few simple steps. The menu is easy to understand and available in a various languages. The app considers the age, weight, and size of your animal while monitoring their activities. Programmable areas
An important function is the 'virtual fence' which I set in a certain zone such as my home address. I can set the radius myself. The app sent me a notification as soon as the dog walked outside this zone. As a result, I feel comfortable going to work and leaving my dog alone for a few hours. No matter where she goes, I can always find her. Going on holidays or for a long walk? I can turn off the function with 1 click. Don't forget to turn it back on when you come home.
Useful size
Tractive has carefully considered the size and weight of the GPS trackers. They fit on both smaller and larger dogs and cats. The collar for cats is adjustable and you can easily click the tracker on it. The GPS tracker for dogs has a sturdy elastic band which I can attach to the collar of my dog. Both are lightweight, so your dog or cat won't notice they're carrying the tracker.

After purchasing the tracker, I had to activate the device. I could choose from a Basic or Premium subscription.
