Expert review OnePlus 10 Pro
OnePlus 10 Pro
- The 5000mAh battery lasts more than a day with average use
- With the 3 cameras on the back, you can take razor-sharp photos in different situations.
- You can use this powerful device for the most demanding apps and 3D games.
- It's hard to control the large smartphone with one hand.
First impression of the OnePlus 10 Pro
The large camera block of the OnePlus 10 Pro really stands out. I had to get used to this design, but I appreciated it more every day. The backside has a sandstone texture. This makes the device look matte or slightly glossy, depending on the light. In addition, the OnePlus 10 Pro is quite large. I notice that it's hard to control the smartphone with one hand.
Sharp photos in different situations
-
Thanks to the telephoto lens, I can zoom in 3 times without losing sharpness
-
The standard lens also performs well against backlight
-
With the standard lens, you can also see many colors and details at night
-
Night photos with the telephoto lens are less sharp
The OnePlus 10 Pro has lenses from the well-known camera brand Hasselblad, so my expectations were high. During the day, the OnePlus 10 takes razor-sharp photos. When I zoom in 3 times with the telephoto lens, my photos and videos don't lose sharpness. On top of that, I can take nice photos with a depth of field effect in the portrait mode. The results of night photos vary. With the standard lens, you see a lot of colors and details, especially when taking photos from up close. But night photos with the wide-angle lens and telephoto lens are much less sharp.
Long battery life, fast charging
The large battery usually lasts the whole day. I use the device for WhatsApp, social media, and to sometimes watch a video or listen to a podcast. Even when I use battery-draining settings, the battery doesn't run out fast. That means I can enjoy the Quad HD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate the whole day. Unfortunately, I couldn't test the OnePlus 10 Pro with the included 80W charger. Charging takes about half an hour with this charger.
Change settings
Just like all the other smartphone brands, OnePlus has its own skin for the Android operating system. Personally, I like the layout and settings of the OnePlus software. I can change the menus and icons to my liking. And I can't just change the colors, but also the shape of icons. That way, I can personalize the OnePlus 10 Pro to the smartphone I like the most.
Razor-sharp screen, large device
The OnePlus 10 Pro is pretty large. My hands aren't particularly small, but it's still hard to control the smartphone with one hand. But the large screen is really nice to watch videos or play games. It allows me to see all details and the colors really stand out on the screen. When I hold the device horizontally, I do notice my hands are on the camera block regularly. That means I need to clean the lenses regularly.
Powerhouse
The OnePlus 10 Pro is a superfast smartphone. I can use the most demanding apps and 3D games without any problems. For example, I can easily play a game of Call of Duty and use photo editing apps without stuttering. That also means the device is suitable for multitasking. I can smoothly switch between different apps.
Conclusion
The OnePlus 10 Pro is suitable for intensive use. In terms of processing power, I can't complain. The smartphone switches between different tasks superfast. Thanks to the excellent battery life, I can easily enjoy the optimal screen settings. In addition, the software personalization has added value to me. On top of that, the Hasselblad cameras deliver razor-sharp photos. Photos with the wide-angle lens and telephoto lens are a bit less sharp and colorful in low light though. And the 10 Pro is pretty large, which makes it hard to control it with one hand.
