First impression of The Terrace
From a comfortable garden chair, I watch a soccer game on The Terrace for the real summer feeling. I notice the bright screen and bright colors right away. You won't miss a single moment of action during a goal, even when the sun is shining. The TV hangs tightly to the wall and has a small bezel. The connectors are located behind a cover on the back of the TV.
Bright colorful images thanks to QLED
The QLED screen and the brightness of 2000 nits make the The Terrace suitable for outdoor use. Thanks to the high brightness, the display stays clearly visible on a sunny day. The QLED technique works with tiny parts in the screen that control the colors on the display very precisely. As a result, the green of the soccer field looks bright and clear while the yellow jerseys of the goalies are just as visible.
No reflections and always good brightness
The anti-glare coating ensures you don't have bothering reflections on the screen during the sunset, for example. Even though I don't test this TV outside, I think this property works well. I barely see reflections of bright lights. In addition, the TV responds to the ambient light thanks to Adaptive Picture. Are you watching TV in bright sunlight? The The Terrace automatically increases the brightness. Are you using the TV after sunset? The television lowers the brightness, so the display isn't too bright and you won't hurt your eyes.
Powerful contrast thanks to Full Array
With The Terrace, you can benefit from a strong contrast thanks to Full Array Local Dimming. Behind the screen, there are various LED lights that light up and dim individually. Thanks to this, a dark part on the screen is really dark, while a light part is very light. During a soccer game, for example, I see deep shadows in the audience and actions on the screen are displayed very clearly. So images look very true-to-life.
Waterproof and dustproof design
The Terrace has an IP55 certification. This means that the TV is water and dustproof. You can't expose the The Terrace to heavy rain for long-term, but the TV is protected against rain. I wasn't able to test this weather resistance, but the IP55 certification is established by an international commission. So you can leave the The Terrace outside all year long without worries. The TV doesn't have leg stands. So you have to mount the TV on the wall. With a The Terrace wall mount, you're sure the TV is safely secured on the wall throughout all different seasons.
Mediocre sound without soundbar
The Terrace has 2 speakers with a total capacity of 20W. A subwoofer isn't included, so you can't really hear a deep bass. When you really want to enjoy an exciting soccer game or an action movie, I recommend using a soundbar. That way, everything will sound more realistic and intense. Luckily, Samsung also offers a weather resistant The Terrace soundbar.
Conclusion
Have you always wanted to enjoy a good movie or exciting soccer game with your friends and family outside in your garden or on the porch? The Terrace is a good choice. Thanks to the high brightness, the QLED screen, and the anti-glare coating, the screen is always clearly visible. Because the sound of the 2 speakers doesn't sound very powerful, I recommend using the The Terrace soundbar. Please note the TV doesn't include leg stands.
