First impression of the Samsung The Frame 2024
The Samsung The Frame from 2024 is an eye-catcher. The first thing I notice is the beautiful, wood-colored bezel and the matte screen. You can choose the color of the bezel yourself. Thanks to the matte screen, the screen remains properly visible even with light falling onto it. At a first glance, it's like you're looking at a painting. The slim soundbar underneath the TV provides a stylish look. In Art Mode, the television automatically goes into an energy-saving mode.
Vibrant images with a good contrast
The Samsung The Frame has a 10-bit QLED screen, which I notice clearly. The different shades of pink look vibrant and razor-sharp on the QLED screen. Because The Frame uses edge lit local dimming, I thought the contrast would be poorer. But this isn't the case, because dark images are quite dark on the TV compared to the colorful parts. The pink stands out against the black cutouts, and the colors of the leopard splash off the TV. The contrast isn't as strong as with an OLED TV, but I'm still surprised in a positive way.
Normal viewing angle and little reflections
When I watch television from an angle, the image remains clearly visible. I do notice the colors and contrast look slightly less intense. As a result, the image doesn't look as colorful from an angle as it does when you stand right in front of the TV. The matte screen is impressive. It smears out light before it reflects, so you're barely bothered with light reflections. This makes an art piece look even more realistic and it seems like there's a painting on the wall.
Artistic design with frame of choice
The main reason to buy a Samsung The Frame is the design. The bezel makes the TV look like a real painting on the wall. When you order the TV, you can choose different colors bezels. That way, there's always a color that matches your interior. Thanks to the One Connect Box, you can connect all your peripherals to the TV with just 1 transparent cable. This makes it easy on the eyes and cables don't ruin the artistic design of the TV.
Rotatable TV mount
Some artworks aren't supposed to hang horizontally, but vertically. Think about 'Girl with a Pearl Ear Ring'. Luckily, this is possible thanks to the rotatable TV mount. With just a touch of a button on the remote, the screen will rotate and the artwork will adjust to the vertical screen. This is useful if you want to hang your self-portrait on the wall. Note: this TV doesn't include this mount, but does support it.
Remote
The One Remote by Samsung is a compact and convenient remote with a limited number of buttons. The remote looks clear and the minimalist design fits well with the sleek design of the TV. With the buttons to 4 popular streaming services, I can watch my favorite movie on Netflix in no time, for example.
Conclusion
The Samsung The Frame from 2024 is a real lifestyle TV that seamlessly fits into your interior thanks to its stylish design. Especially if you purchase the rotatable mount. Thanks to the matte screen, the television displays artworks from the Art Mode in a realistic way. In combination with the colorful 10-bit QLED screen, the colors of the artworks look great. The contrast of the TV isn't as good as with the OLED televisions, but this doesn't change the experience. If you're looking for a unique television with an artistic look, this is the TV for you.
