First impression of the Samsung Neo QLED QN900C
When I first take a look at the QN900C, I notice the pretty much bezel-less design. The bezel around the screen is barely visible and the image is very clear. As a result, everything about this TV catches my attention. The TV comes with the compact Solar One Remote. This remote recharges itself with artificial light and daylight, which makes batteries unnecessary.
Razor-sharp images
The 8K screen of the QN900C displays 4 times as many pixels as a 4K TV. I notice this right away. I distinguish all the details in the mountain landscapes on the screen and the images look realistic. The television has a smart 8K upscaling function. This allows the processor of the TV to convert 4K images into 8K. While testing this function, I notice that the 4K images look sharper and more detailed.
Vibrant colors and a strong contrast
The QN900C displays bright images with a peak brightness of 4000 nits. Thanks to the Mini-LED local dimming, the TV displays truly dark images with deep black levels. The combination of bright and dark images ensures a strong contrast. I notice this when I watch images of the northern lights. The colorful light really stands out against the truly black sky. This looks impressive.
Wide viewing angle with anti-glare
When I view the TV from an angle, the images remain detailed and colorful. Partly due to the Ultra Viewing Angle by Samsung, the TV has a wide viewing angle. Because of the anti-glare layer on the screen, I barely see any reflections. The anti-glare layer doesn't work as well when bright lights are pointed towards the TV. In that case, the layer smears out the light and creates a rainbow effect. This is still better than reflections though.
Thin design with Slim One Connect Box
The design of the QN900C is noteworthy. The TV is just 15mm thick and barely has a bezel thanks to the Infinity Screen. Thanks to this, it looks like I'm watching a screen without a bezel. Because of the convenient Slim One Connect Box, I don't see a variety of cables hanging from the back of the TV. You connect all your peripherals to the box and connect the box to the TV with just 1 transparent cable. This looks neat and well-organized.
Immersive audio experience
The QN900C has Object Tracking Sound Pro. This technology tracks the sound of the movements on the screen. There are speakers located on the top, sides, and bottom of the screen. As a result, the sound is very spatial. When a car is driving from left to right, I hear the sound move along. The QN900C has 6 regular speakers, 4 speakers pointed upwards, and 2 subwoofers. Thanks to this, you enjoy an immersive sound experience with a rich treble and powerful bass.
A lot of user-friendliness
The screen-filling smart platform of the QN900C is well-organized and has almost all the popular apps. I navigate through my favorite movies and series on Netflix and watch unique 8K footage on YouTube. Thanks to the useful smart buttons on the compact remote, I can quickly navigate to Disney+ and Amazon Prime, for example. The remote itself only has a few buttons, which makes it very orderly.
Conclusion
Everything shows the QN900C is the best Neo QLED television. This TV displays realistic, detailed images with remarkably high brightness in sharp 8K resolution. The sound of the TV is also powerful and offers an immersive listening experience. Not much 8K content is available yet, but the 4K upscale option makes even lower quality images look razor-sharp.
