First impression of the Samsung S24 Plus
The Samsung Galaxy S24 is a large smartphone. I like that I have a lot of room on the screen, but the device is difficult to control with 1 hand. The sides of the S24 Plus are straight, which makes it feel sturdy and comfortable in my hand. In addition, I notice that there's no charger in the box. This means that you'll have to buy one separately. I do find a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box.
Galaxy AI makes the S24 Plus user-friendly
The new Galaxy AI makes the Samsung S24 Plus more user-friendly than other smartphones. With Circle to Search (a collaboration with Google), I can circle something I see on my screen. The S24 Plus then searches for that image via Google. Within a few seconds, I can find out where I can buy that beautiful bottle I saw in the office. Galaxy AI also summarizes my notes and (news) articles. In addition, Galaxy AI can translate live messages and phone calls. Unfortunately, this function wasn't available yet when I tested the device. *Circle to Search is a collaboration between Samsung and Google.
Photo editing with Galaxy AI
With Galaxy AI, I can edit photos without needing complicated editing programs. Is there an annoying object or a person in the photo? I can easily remove it. Artificial intelligence then fills the gap that leaves. In many cases, this works amazingly well and I can't see that anything was edited. I do notice that Galaxy AI has difficulty with objects that have a strange shape. For example, I can still see some thin leaves after I've remove a plant.

The cameras handle the lighting on this building well
The night mode works very well on all 3rd camera lenses. Even in difficult conditions like rain or little light, I can take razor-sharp and colorful photos. With the telephoto lens, I can zoom in 3 times without my photo or video becoming less sharp. I also don't notice a difference in terms of sharpness with the standard or wide-angle lens. The options with this camera are less extensive than those of the Samsung S24 Ultra, which zooms in further and takes better night photos.
High-quality screen
I'm impressed by the razor-sharp screen. I can see all the details of movies, series, and 3D games on it. The colors pop on the screen. And when I play a game, I don't miss a single action. The S24 Plus is set to a Full HD resolution by default. I had to enable the sharper Quad HD myself in the settings.
Suitable for the most demanding tasks
The Samsung S24 Plus is extremely fast. The smartphone easily opens demanding photo editing apps and 3D games. The S24 Plus also never takes much time to load these types of apps. When I'm on the train, I often switch between different apps. This is also very fast on the S24 Plus.
Battery life depends on settings
The battery life highly depends on my settings. If I set the screen resolution to full HD, the battery easily lasts until the end of the evening. With the sharper Quad HD resolution, the battery drains faster. I can make it to the end of my working day, but the S24 Plus has to be charged in the evening. There's no charger in the box, but charger charging is slower with my 25W than with other high-end smartphones. The 45W Samsung charger is faster, but I was unable to test it, unfortunately.
Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus is an extremely fast smartphone with a razor-sharp screen. I can see all the details from my movies, series, and games on it. All apps open extremely fast, and the device easily opens the most demanding apps as well. Thanks to Galaxy AI, I have more options on the Samsung S24 Plus than on other smartphones. For example, I can easily edit photos and look things up. With the camera, I can take razor-sharp photos and videos. Still, I also notice that these cameras aren't as good as those of the Samsung S24 Ultra.
