Expert review of the LG OLED Posé
LG 48LX1Q6LA (2022)
- The stylish beige design makes this TV a good addition to your interior.
- There's extra space for devices and cables on the back of the TV, so everything is hidden.
- Thanks to the OLED EVO screen, black parts of the image are truly black.
- You can't listen to deep bass with this TV, because it lacks a subwoofer.
First impression of the LG Posé
In the LG showroom, this 48-inch Posé doesn't initially stand out from all the large OLED televisions on the wall at first. The Posé is relatively small and is available in 42, 48, and 55 inches. But when I stand in front of the TV, the stylish design and thin screen immediately catch my eye. The television has 4 long leg stands. There's room for cables in these leg stands. This means there aren't any cables behind the screen.
Unique and useful design
The beige color and stylish design looks good in most interiors. The Posé won't look out of place in your living room. As with all OLED TVs, the screen of the Posé is very thin. There's a raised edge on the casing on the back of the TV. You can hang useful storage compartments on it for your TV box, for example. You can also use it to store your remote or magazines. This makes the design of the Posé multifunctional.
Clear color details and bright images
When I watch HDR images on the OLED screen, I can see that the screen shows many color details. In an image from an animated movie with mainly blue and purple tones, the colors look realistic. For example, I don't see any lines in the transition from purple to blue. This makes HDR images look realistic. The OLED EVO screen also ensures high brightness. I mainly notice this because I see few reflections from the bright showroom on the screen.
Deep black levels
The OLED screen consists of millions of pixels that dim and light up individually. If part of the image is black, the pixels don't illuminate at all. This makes black parts truly black. When I look at an image of someone looking at a sunset, the shadows behind them are deep black. Places where light does fall flow smoothly transition into shadows. This makes dark images look lifelike as wel.
Excellent viewing angle
Because the pixels are close to the screen surface, OLED TVs always have an excellent viewing angle. When I sit in front of the TV from an angle, I notice that the colors and contrast don't get any worse. This means that you can easily watch a new movie with all your friends. Everyone can see the same image quality, even the person on the very end of the couch.
Good sound for normal use
There are 4 speakers under the screen that face forward. This makes it seem as if the sound comes from the screen. When I sit close to the TV, I hear the sound moving from the left to the right as a car drives by. Because the TV lacks a subwoofer, I do miss the bass of the car engine. I definitely recommend a separate soundbar for this. This makes the sound more spatial and powerful.
Magic Remote in the color of the TV
When you order the LG Posé, you receive a remote in the same color as the TV. Unfortunately, only the black Magic Remote is available in the showroom. Aside from the color, the Posé remote looks the same. When I point this Magic Remote at the screen, a cursor appears on the screen. With simple movements of the remote, I can move the cursor through the menus and easily select options.
Quick and organized smart menu
LG's WebOS smart menu is a clear menu with all the familiar streaming apps. This allows me to easily start Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon Prime Video. The menu responds very quickly to the buttons I press. On the home screen, I also see a row of menus for specific usage situations. There's a sports menu, for example. You'll find all kinds of settings for watching sports there, such as the smoothness of the image. This way, you'll always find the right settings for what you're watching.
Conclusion
With the LG Posé, you get all the advantages of an LG OLED TV. But the television mostly stands out because of its stylish design. Looking for a TV with OLED image quality, but do you also want a unique addition to your interior? This Posé is a good choice. Because the sound isn't very powerful, I do recommend a separate soundbar with this TV.
