How do you connect devices with an HDMI output to your receiver?

You are planning to connect all your devices with HDMI connection to your receiver, but you do not know how to do this. This article will help you with that. The installation is explained step by step.

Preparation

For a successful installation, connect the receiver to your speakers first. Make sure you have HDMI cables. The installation takes about 5 minutes per device to be connected.

If your HDMI cable is older than 2 years, choose a new cable. With a new HDMI cable you are assured of the best picture quality. You also know for sure that the latest video standards are supported.

Connecting a TV

  • Step 1:

Connect the HDMI cable to the receiver and your TV. You do this by plugging the HDMI cable into the HDMI out MAIN / TV ARC output on the back of your receiver.

  • Step 2:

The other side of the HDMI cable connects to ARC HDMI input from your TV. This input can be found on the back of the TV.

  • Step 3:

Turn on the receiver and your TV. Then click the MAIN / TV button with the receiver's remote control.

  • Step 4:

Click the menu button with the receiver's remote control.

  • Step 5:

Check or the receiver's menu appears on your TV. No image? Follow the steps again and check if the cables are connected properly.

It is possible that the HDMI connection of your TV does not support sound. Check if there is ARC at the HDMI connection on your TV. Is this not listed? Then you have to connect another optical audio cable. This is done as follows.

  • Step 1:

Connect the optical audio cable to the receiver. Connect the optical audio cable to the DIGITAL IN OPTICAL TV socket on your receiver.

  • Step 2:

Connect the other end of the optical audio cable to the digital optical audio out of your TV.

  • Step 1: \ n \ nConnect the HDMI cable to your receiver and the TV decoder. There are multiple HDMI inputs on the back of your receiver. Select the CBL / SAT HDMI input. \ N \ n * Step 2: \ n \ nConnect the other end of the HDMI cable to the TV decoder. Choose the only HDMI output on the back of your TV decoder. \ N \ n * Step 3: \ n \ nTurn on the receiver, TV and TV decoder. Then select the CBL / SAT button using the receiver's remote control. \ N \ n * Step 4: \ n \ nTest if you can watch TV. No image? Follow the step-by-step plan again and check that all cables are closed.

  • Step 1:

Connect the HDMI cable to your receiver and your device. To connect the media box, select the HDMI STRM BOX input on the back of your receiver. You connect the Blu-ray player by connecting the HDMI cable to the HDMI BD / DVD input on the back of your receiver. You connect your console by connecting the HDMI cable to the HDMI GAME input on your receiver.

  • Step 2:

Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the only HDMI output of your media box, Blu -ray player or console.

  • Step 3:

To test if your devices are connected properly. Turn on all devices, your television and receiver. With your remote control you can press STRM BOX, BD / DVD or GAME button in turn. Test whether the devices are displaying images. No image? Follow the steps again and check that all cables are connected to the correct inputs.
