Material
TERRA and E-TERRA: plastic with matte finish
Just like the SodaStream ART, the (E)-TERRA models are also made of plastic. The only difference is that these models have a matte finish. Keep in mind that the product isn't fingerprint-resistant due to the material.
ART: plastic with stainless steel elements
The SodaStream ART is made of plastic with stainless steel elements. This makes it light and easy to store. Keep in mind that the ART model isn't fingerprint proof. Fingerprints on the sparkling water maker are clearly visible. Another disadvantage is that plastic damages more easily and isn't as sturdy.
DUO: metal
The partly stainless steel casing of the DUO is wear-resistant. heavy, and stands firmly on your countertop. Because the casing is made of high-grade material, the SodaStream DUO lasts years. That's useful if you use the sparkling water maker daily. Keep in mind that it's more difficult to store because it's heavier.
Controls
(E)-TERRA and DUO: button
You can control the SodaStream TERRA and DUO with one push of a button. Press and hold the button for about 1 second to add bubbles to your water. With these 2 models, repeat this action 3 to 5 times to create sparkling water. With the E-TERRA model, you can choose one of the 3 automatic sparkling settings. That's useful, because you can always get the right amount of bubbles that way.
ART: lever
You control the SodaStream ART with 1 push of the lever. Simply push the level downwards for 1 second to add CO2 to your water. Then, release the lever and repeat this step 3 to 5 times until you reach the desired amount of bubbles.
Included bottles
(E)-TERRA and ART: 1
In the box of the SodaStream ART and (E-)TERRA models, you'll find 1 reusable plastic bottle. The bottle has a 1L capacity. You can close the bottle with the black cap to retain the carbon dioxide in the water for longer. Thanks to the material, the bottle is light and easy to take with you on the go.
DUO: 2
The SodaStream DUO includes an extra glass bottle. This way, you can easily make a sparkling water supply. The glass bottle has a luxurious look and is sturdy, so you can use the bottle as a glass carafe as well. Just like the plastic bottle of the SodaStream ART and (E-)TERRA, this bottle is dishwasher-safe. Keep in mind that this glass carafe is only suitable for the DUO model.
Conclusion
Though you can make sparkling water with all 3 SodaStream models, the TERRA, ART, E-TERRA, and DEO do differ. The DUO model has a metal casing, while the (E-)TERRA models have a luxurious matte finish. The SodaStream ART has a lever to add CO2 with, while the other 2 models have a button.
