Contrast and color depth

Contrast of the LG NANO886

NANO886: 10-bit screen and edge lit

With the LG NANO889, you can watch images with a wide color gamut. Thanks to the 10-bit screen, this TV displays no less than 1 billion colors. This results in clearly visible subtle color differences. Various shades of green in a jungle or all kinds of blue in an ocean, for example. Though edge lit isn't the best type of local dimming, this technology does improve the contrast. So there's a big difference between bright and dark parts of the screen and there's more room for color details.

Contrast of the LG NANO816

NANO816: NanoCell and edge lit local dimming

The LG NANO816 has an 8-bit panel, so the screen displays less colors than the NANO886. The TV does have the NanoCell screen. Tiny particles in the TV prevent distortion of light waves, so you can watch images with pure colors. Just like the NANO886, this TV has edge lit local dimming. This means that the backlight at the edges of the TV dims when the image is dark. The contrast is stronger as a result.

Contrast of the LG NANO756 NanoCell TV

NANO756: NanoCell technology

The NANO756 has an 8-bit panel and no local dimming. So the TV doesn't display as many colors as the NANO886 and the images have a less strong contrast. Just like the other 2 televisions, the NANO756 does have the NanoCell technology. The layer of tiny particles serves as some kind of color filter so it only displays the right colors. This way, colors look bright and clear.

Refresh rate

Refresh rate of the LG NANO886

NANO886: 100Hz

Do you watch a lot of spots or are you an avid gamer? Enjoy a 100Hz refresh rate with the LG NANO886. This means that the screen of the TV refreshes 100 times per second. So fast movements are displayed sharply and smoothly on the screen. As a result, a fast car making a turn in a Formula 1 race is sharp the whole time. This is also useful for gamers. Fast actions in the game are displayed smoothly, so you won't miss a single moment.

Refresh rate of the LG NANO816

NANO816: 50Hz

The NANO816 has a 50Hz refresh rate. Fast-moving images don't always look smooth as a result. If you mostly watch live television and a movie or series every now and then, you probably won't need a higher refresh rate. Do you often watch a soccer game, tennis, or Formula 1? Or do you use a console with your TV? We recommend a television with a 100Hz refresh rate.

Refresh rate of the LG NANO756

NANO756: 50Hz

The NANO756 also has a 50Hz refresh rate. Fast-moving parts of the screen look less sharp because of it. Does the keeper shoot the ball away during a soccer game? The ball won't always be displayed sharply, but will look like a white blur on the field. That's why we recommend a 100Hz TV for watching sports.

Design and sizes

Design of the LG NANO886

NANO886: 1 stand, multiple sizes

The LG NANO886 is placed on 1 stand that's shaped like a half moon. The TV itself is about 4.5cm thick. The stand and the bezel around screen have a light metal color. This TV is available in sizes between 50 and 86 inches. So a truly small size isn't available, but you do have lots of choice for larger sizes.

Design of the LG NANO816

NANO816: 1 stand, only 3 sizes

The LG NANO816 looks more or less the same as the NANO886. The screen is also about 4.5cm thick and placed on a sturdy stand. The stand and the bezels are slightly darker, but still have a matte metal color. The NANO816 is only available in 3 sizes: 50, 55, and 65 inches.

Design of the LG NANO756

NANO756: 2 stands, many sizes

The NANO756 looks slightly different than the other 2 TVS. That's because this television is placed on 2 smaller leg stands. This makes the TV stand out a little less. The 5.8cm screen is a bit thicker than that of of the NANO886 and NANO816. Are you looking for a smaller television? The NANO756 is also available as a 43-inch TV.

Conclusion

The similarity between these 3 TVs is the NanoCell screen. This technologu ensures a rich and pure color representation. Other than that, there are many differences between the TVs. The NANO886 has a 10-bit screen and 100Hz refresh rate. This makes images look extra colorful and smooth. That's why this TV is most suitable for sports fans, gamers, or movie enthusiasts. The NANO756 looks a little less luxurious and has fewer technologies that improve the image. That's why this TV is suitable for watching live television.
