How do you choose a racing wheel?
Choose racing wheel
Choosing a racing wheel for your sim racing game isn't easy. There are many different wheels with different properties. The following 3 questions help you with choosing between the wheels:
- Are you a starting, experienced, or fanatic racer?
- How often do you play sim racing games?
- On which platform do you play your games?
What types of racing wheels are there?
Racing wheels without force feedback
You want to race, but you're not super devoted. You still want more than steering with the arrows of your keyboard or thumb sticks of your controller. These racing wheels are less realistic, but are useful for young drivers. A gearbox shifter isn't included.
- Useful for young drivers
- More affordable than other wheels
- Less realistic
Racing wheels with force feedback
A racing wheel with force feedback provides a more realistic racing experience. These racing wheels have a motor. The motor provides vibrations and resistance, so the car feels more realistic. A gearbox shifter is often included.
- Makes your racing experience more realistic
- Durable materials and sturdy construction
- The racing wheels aren't replaceable
Servo Base racing wheels
A Servo Base is the most powerful racing wheel. This base often has a magnetic sensor, so all your movements are very precise. You can also easily attach an F1 steering wheel to the base, so you can play F1 in style and more comfortably. Pedals aren't included.
- The most realistic racing experience
- Choose your own steering wheel: rally or F1
- Pedals and a steering wheel aren't included
