How do you choose the right JBL Party Speaker?

You're throwing a party, but you're not sure which JBL party box suits your party. In this article, you can read what to keep in mind when choosing the right party speaker. Consider the size of your party location and the power of the sound.

Choose a JBL party speaker

JBL partybox 710

Every party needs music. It's important to choose the right speaker for your party so it suits the occasion. So ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you often take the party speaker with you on the go?
  • What size do you need?
  • Do you want a speaker that works on a battery or the power grid?
  • How much power do you need for what occasion?
  • Do you want extra functions?

Do you often take the speaker with you on the go?

JBL Partybox 310

If you're having your party outside, there's a good chance that you'll take the party speaker with you to the party location. If it's a big venue, you'll want everyone to be able to hear the music. You need a large speaker for this. In that case, wheels and a handle are useful so you can move the speaker. The JBL Partybox 310, 710, and Ultimate are good choices for this. If you're having a smaller party, choose the JBL Partybox Encore or Partybox 110. These have a handle and are easy to move.

What size do you need?

JBL Partybox Encore

You can place any speaker anywhere, but the Partybox 310, 710, and Ultimate are more suitable for large spaces than the 110 and Encore. You can easily place the JBL Partybox 110 and Encore in the corner of the room without them standing out too much. The 310, 710, and Ultimate are often too large for your living room and are more suitable for big halls or for outside. For example, a rehearsal space or the park.

Want a speaker to run on a battery or the power grid?

JBL Partybox 710

Choose a battery-powered speaker if you want to use it outside. With the JBL Partybox 110, 310, and Encore, you can play music all day long without needing a socket. But the battery life is shorter if you play music at full volume. The Partybox 710 and Ultimate connect to the socket, which makes them less flexible to place where you want. On the other hand, they're large speakers, so you don't want to move them often.

How much power do you need for what occasion?

JBL Party Box Essential

For at home, 100 to 150W is enough. This makes the JBL Encore and Partybox 110 good for house parties with their 100 and 160W of power. For parties in a large garden or hall, you want at least 600W. The JBL Partybox 710 and Ultimate are suitable for this with 800 and 1100W of power. For a barbecue in the park with friends, choose the Partybox 310 with a power output of 240W.

Do you want extra functions?

JBL Partybox 1000

With extra functions, you get the most out of your party. Consider a microphone and guitar connection for an interactive evening, for example. With the Partybox 110, 310, 710, and Ultimate, you're in the right place if you want a musical evening. These models have inputs for microphones and guitar. Complete the party with light shows. All JBL party speakers we have provide light shows, but these differ per speaker. For example, the Partybox 710 has 2 lighting rings and 2 lighting strips. With the Partybox Encore, you only have 1 lighting ring.
