Canon EOS R10
- The autofocus points cover the full screen, so you can focus up to the edges of the image.
- Thanks to the special autofocus programs, the camera automatically focusses on people, animals, and vehicles.
- You can take sharp photos with the 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor.
- The camera body doesn't have image stabilization to reduce motion blur.
- If you record in 4K at 60 fps, the camera crops the image horizontally and narrows your frame.
APS-C image sensor
The Canon EOS R7 and EOS R10 are the first cameras in the EOS R series with an APS-C sensor. This type of sensor takes up less space than a full-frame sensor, so the camera is more compact and lighter. This allows you to easily take it with you on a trip. Both cameras have a crop factor of 1.6. The means you multiply the focal length of your lens by 1.6. As a result, your image is more zoomed in and you have a larger zoom range than with a full-frame sensor. That's useful if you like to take sports photos.
100% autofocus
The R7 and R10 both have a new 100x100% autofocus system. This way, the whole sensor works as a focus point when you track a subject. That means the subject is still in focus at the edge of your frame. In addition, the cameras have special AF programs that focus on people, animals, and vehicles automatically. For example, you automatically see a focus point in the viewfinder if you aim the camera at a car.
RF-S lenses
During the introduction of the R7 and R10, Canon also introduces new lenses for these models. These are the RF-S lenses. These lenses are specially designed for the APS-C sensor size. This way, the lens and the camera are nicely in synch. Do you already have RF or EF/EF-S lenses? That's okay. These also fit on the R7 or R10. You do need the EF-EOS R adapter for the EF/EF-S lenses.
