Description
If you still enjoy selecting that one CD from all other CDs in your collection, the Onkyo C-7030 CD player is perfect for you. The C-7030 is especially designed with keeping the best signal in mind. The C-7030 is equipped with an extremely accurate Wolfson D/A converter and Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry to suppress any unwanted interference. The C-7030 is also equipped with an extra large transformer that prevents fluctuations in the voltage of the power, and the chassis is made of 1.6mm thick material. This thick construction prevents the influence of vibrations and gives the device a 7.2-kilo weight. Apart from an analog display of CDs, digitally transferring audio signal is also possible thanks to the coaxial and optical outputs of the C-7030. The reliable build quality that Onkyo is known for can be seen all over the C-7030, and that's why the C-7030 is a good addition to your stereo set. In case you want even better signal display, the Onkyo C-7070 may also be an option for you.

I have owned this CD player for half a year now and I am very satisfied with it. Use it both as transport via a coax cable to my active Edifier S880DB speakers, but also use the built-in DAC when I connect them with a standard RCA connection. The differences in sound quality between the two options are remarkable: the amplifier in the Edifier speakers sounds warm, which is very pleasant to the ears. This CD player then acts as a very stable transport and does its job perfectly. When I let the Onkyo's internal DAC do the work, the sound becomes incredibly transparent, almost analytical. Perfect for eg classical music, especially with orchestra or for opera, when you want to hear as much detail as possible. This CD player is superior in that regard. But the sound also becomes a tad "cool". No problem in the right repertoire.
