Eufy Video Doorbell E340

Sent back as it was no improvement on my Eufy 2K doorbell (from 3 years ago!)

Bought this doorbell (homebase3+ e340) to have a video doorbell without cloud dependence. There are no cloud costs, but notifications do work via cloud, there is no local API for your own smart home integration such as home assistant. The e340 would support rtsp (which would have been nice for Frigate, for example) but this is not usable, because the e340 sets up a WiFi connection with the homebase3 and is not directly accessible. There is a HACS solution for Home Assistant, but this also relies on the cloud. The e340 has a removable battery, which is also necessary in a wired setup. Unfortunately, this drains slowly with our current 8Vac transformer and the battery status is not visible in the app, so you suddenly wonder why you no longer receive notifications. We have looked at a new transformer but it is not very clear what the desired voltage is (16-24Vac according to the manual) but there are not many traditional gongs available for this.

Beautiful and well-finished hardware with good image and sound, but the installation and settings are a bit of a puzzle. (at least for me) But after a while of puzzling and trying, I managed to get everything working, but not yet as I would like, but it will turn out fine. These are the first items from Eufy, but there will certainly be an expansion.
