Well, what do you write about an extra battery? It wasn't a choice because it's specifically for this camera. There were no other options. It's an extension of the original battery that comes with the camera. This is fine in terms of capacity. But a 2nd battery is useful because the camera, in addition to taking photos, also uses a lot of power for the WiFi connection with your phone/app. You can choose to turn it off, but sometimes a real-time connection is quite useful if you want to share something quickly. So choose: Connectivity and a lot of power consumption and a 2nd battery needed. Or something less connective and have enough with 1 battery. It's up to you!
