OPPO Find X5 Pro 256GB Black 5G

It is a beautiful smartphone to look at, it feels good in the hand, this is due to the ceramic back and the special but pleasant camera bump. It's also not too wide, which means you can hold it just a little bit nicer compared to a 13 pro max or s22 ultra. (I have already tested both of these in the store) The screen is very nice, strong colors, many options to adjust it to your own taste and 120hz is also very nice. The edge is not necessary for me, but it certainly doesn't bother me and if you get used to it, every other screen feels old. The performance of the phone is just very good, everything works smoothly and quickly and the shell that Oppo uses is clean, nice and has nice new functions to play with. The phone can get a little warm, but not hot or disturbingly warm. Perhaps Oppo will solve this with software updates. Call quality, GPS, internet speed, etc.. can all be called very good, really at flagship level. The fingerprint scanner in the screen also works quickly and always accurately. Then we have to talk about the cameras, because WOW you really buy the device for that! Oppo has therefore developed its own image processing processor, just like Apple, so the processing of photos is really sublime. At Samsung and even at Apple you sometimes have to wait until the photo is completely processed and therefore it may be the case that if you quickly click on a photo that has been taken, it will still be processed, this takes a few seconds, but with this smartphone it is ready immediately . There is no shutter lag and photos are almost always super sharp. Macro photos are also very sharp with this device. He also takes beautiful pictures at night and I think he outperforms many competitors. I honestly don't think you can take better pictures with an s22 ultra or 13 pro max. Only zooming does the s22 ultra better. Let's talk about stabilization, so Oppo has applied a kind of gimbal technique in the camera, and you notice that! while filming, it feels and looks exactly like when I used a gimbal with my iPhone. Images are smooth with no jitters or stutters. So you don't have to buy the osmo anymore (Sorry Coolblue and DJI ;-) If you are looking for a flagship level smartphone and attach great importance to photography, this Oppo is definitely worth it and hard to beat.

When I put on the Oppo Find X5 Pro a few weeks ago, it was first time to swallow. Oh yes, ColorOS, Oppo's thick Android shell. I know this one from the Oppo Reno 2 that I enjoyed using it for 6 months a few years ago. ColorOS is a far cry from stock Android (which is secretly my preference), but at the same time, ColorOS offers many more functions. So it took some getting used to, but when that happens you also have a lot of fun with it. For the rest it is not getting used to. It immediately feels good. It is a beautiful device with a beautiful screen. I'm a fan of the curved screen edges, although functionally this can have its drawbacks. The included black case is also great. Although you cannot see the device because of this, it has an advantage compared to the often transparent supplied silicone covers. These quickly become dull and yellowish. Then such an opaque black case will look much better for a longer period of time. The device feels very solid and with the beautiful screen and thin screen edges, it feels like a real premium phone. It is nice and fast with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but occasionally feels warm. With 256 Gb, the device has a lot of storage memory and with 12 Gb RAM you can multitask well. So far I am very happy with the camera. Haven't tested it in all conditions yet. I mainly use it during the day. With the main camera you can shoot more than fine pictures. You gotta love it, but I always turn on the AI feature. With this, the device itself determines whether things need to be adjusted to the photo based on what you are photographing. So with this feature things like contrast and saturation of colors are automatically adjusted. Things that you might adjust yourself in Instagram or with Snapseed. This generally makes the photos more colorful. That's not necessarily more natural and isn't everyone's cup of tea. But I do like it. I was also able to take excellent macro photos with wide-angle/macro lens. So nothing but praise so far. In terms of battery life, it's just about right at the moment. He doesn't last very long. I can get through a day more with moderate use. With heavy use, it won't last the day. And I expect just a little more from a phone with a 5000 mAh battery. But on the other hand, super fast charging with 80W and wireless charging with up to 50W. And I think wireless charging is a great invention. However, I did have two serious issues with this phone in the past few weeks. I couldn't get my work profile working through Microsoft Company Portal. This was ultimately up to Oppo itself, because this has now been resolved with a software update. I also suffered from the fact that telephone conversations are often cut off quickly after the start of a conversation. The connection was then abruptly disconnected and I had to call again. This has also been resolved since the update and that gives confidence. It's a phone that has everything there is to offer right now. It's just a shame (and this money just as well for the competition) that you have to put down so much money for it.

Opening the packaging is a little party! In contrast to my previous phone(s), the contents are surprisingly complete with both a protective cover and a fast charger with which the phone is fully charged again in no time. Now that I've been using the Oppo for a few weeks, all I can say is that I haven't regretted the switch for a moment. Nice big screen, but not too wide so you can still hold the phone comfortably. Sharp image on which both reading and keeping track of (business) email and watching movies go very well. The camera takes beautiful photos and videos in all conditions (light / dark). I still have to get used to the layout of the screens and the 'drawer' with all the apps. It would be nice if you could sort it manually.
