Saeco Xelsis SM7580/00 Piano Black

Is my 3rd "Saeco", with the previous 2 I did 12 and 18 years, calculated on an annual basis, this is a very cheap device, cheaper than an ordinary coffee maker. Cheap to use (beans instead of pads, pods, caps and cups) The cheaper devices are environmentally harmful, the recycling bins at the container park are full of them. In response to the negatives of others; -"water not hot enough", steam actually comes out of the machine, how can the water not be hot enough? Read the f**ing manual! You can set the temperature / preparation and / profile. -"it switches off after about 10 minutes", Read the f**ing manual! You can set that time. -"not good coffee", have you done the water hardness test? Furthermore, you have complete control over the taste, experiment with the versatile settings or buy a different brand/type of beans. -"no wi-fi" uh... so you bought a coffee machine eh, no router ;-) I don't see any added value in an app that warns you when the water level is low or the beans are gone, your smartphone really does do not refill.

After several Delonghi fully automatic machines that broke down every 3 years, I once opted for Saeco. This one came out with the higher scores from the reviews and rightly so. A device that can make very tasty coffee, espresso, café latté, caffé machiato, etc. and comparable to the "real" espresso. You taste the beans. Each coffee is also individually adjustable to taste and quantity. That is a strong asset, especially if your own preference deviates slightly from the 'standard' settings. As a family it is also very nice to be able to make 2 cups at once, makes it easier at the hectic breakfast table. The preparation of the coffee takes (as with any fully automatic machine) a little longer. In terms of taste, choice of different types of coffee and settings, I can only give 5 stars, and certainly a head start compared to my old Delonghi's, which were also in the higher price range. As for the combinations with milk, the milk foam comes out perfectly and this too can be individually adjusted. Any milk-related coffee is therefore very tasty. I personally think a separate milk container is an added value, given that the systems with a milk jug that have to be clicked into the device show defects over time due to the constant sliding in and out of the milk container. Cons: price. For this price you expect a more solid finish compared to the silver look. Real stainless steel was certainly necessary for this price. Also the slightly smaller drip tray and collection of coffee grounds could have been made larger, I think. However, that is no reason not to purchase the device. The water reservoir is sufficient and what is better than other brands is that if the water supply is insufficient, the device will continue to work after refilling. Other brands simply stop when there is not enough water and then you have to start over. Neutral: I read in reviews comments about the cleaning procedure and how intensive it is. Presumably by users who have never worked with fully automatic machines. A bicycle also requires maintenance, as does a good coffee machine. Every Saturday we do the standard cleaning and 1x/month the more intensive cleaning. It will indeed take you a little longer, but this will have a positive effect on the durability as well as on the taste of your coffee. In summary, a (slightly too) expensive device that makes perfect coffee. We talked about it and hope to enjoy it much longer than our Delonghi's that broke every 3 years. To date we have not complained about it.

This Saeco is easy to operate and clean. If we now make a latte, this is done relatively quickly. The milk foam is wonderfully firm. The taste of the different coffees is great, although this is of course subjective.
