Jupio EN-EL15

First remark: on the Coolblue site the Jupio battery is indicated as an alternative to the Nikon battery with the same capacity (1900mAh). If you click through to the specifications of the Jupio battery, the real capacity of 1650mAh is given. In the camera, the battery works as expected. Strange result when using a Meike battery grip: the camera is set by default to first the battery in the grip, then switch to battery in the camera. When the (fully charged) Jupio is in the battery grip, and the (fully charged) Nikon battery is in the camera, the camera display will indicate an empty battery in the grip and will NOT switch to the camera battery. The device is unusable at that time, because the set-up menu is also not accessible. When changing the batteries (Jupio in camare, Nikon in Meike grip) everything works as it should. In addition, the camera menu lists the two batteries at 100% charge. Strange.

Jupio is a brand that makes batteries that may be used instead of original batteries coming from the main brand - more particulary the EN-EL15 is a battery that fits for some of the Nikon cameras. So far I have had one which only lasted for 9 months before it could no longer recharge and thereby became useless. While I could therefore not recommend this battery, I would highlight that CoolBlue did a replacement under warranty terms, providing a new Jupio EN-EL15.

It is not that expensive or an original one, but very solid. I use it for my jupio battery grip and am very satisfied.
