With the Qstarz BT-Q818XT GPS receiver you get a Bluetooth-enabled GPS receiver. In addition, this fast receiver also excellently serves as a laptimer. Thanks to the 10 Hz mode, you can record your lap times flawlessly, no matter how fast your car or motorcycle is. With the Qstarz BT-Q818XT Bluetooth GPS receiver in your pocket you are prepared for anything.
The Qstarz BT-Q818XT has a very fast A-GPS fix , so that the GPS receiver knows in advance where to expect a satellite position. With a reception of 66 channels, the Qstarz picks up each satellite signal. The use of the Qstarz with your PDA or smartphone is also controlled via Bluetooth. The Qstarz BT-Q818XT has a dual function and can therefore also be wired via USB with, for example, a laptop.
A long journey ahead? The Qstarz BT-Q818XT works continuously for 42 hours on a battery charge. As soon as the BT-Q818XT is not connected to your PDA, it switches itself off automatically, delaying its need for recharging. When your device is in range again, the BT-Q818XT automatically searches for contact again.
The BT-Q818XT is not supported for use with iPhone / iPad.

Based on a number of reviews, I had bought the GPS receiver to be able to navigate with my IPAD2. Unfortunately Blue Tooth of my IPAD does not recognize the GPS receiver. Who can help me with a solution?

Before purchasing this external receiver, I contacted Qstarz who assured me that the device would work on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000. Not so. The blue tooth on my smartphone did find the Q818XT but these were not passed on to the navigator. On google I found the solution of this problem by downloading the program Bluetooth GPS (GG.MobLab) from Google Play store. With a license (1 Euro) I got the connection to the navigator working with a prime connection.

I bought this GPS receiver a few weeks ago because I wanted a fast GPS signal for a laptimer application on my iPod. I pair the GPS receiver with my iPod and use it as a lap timer and data logger for when I'm on the track with my motorcycle. I have only been able to use/test it a few times, but I am very satisfied with it. The update speed of the GPS is very fast; the GPS receiver has very good reception everywhere; the battery lasts a very long time. At the moment I don't have any negative points because everything works better than I could have expected!
