Fan heaters
A fan heater has a fan and a heating element, like a filament. The heater blows the hot air in the room, so the room warms up quickly.

Convection heaters
The heat of a convection heater is comparable to a radiator that's connected to the central heating. Cold air passes the heater and heats up. The hot air rises, so cool air passes the heater again.

An infrared heater works with radiation heat. That way, you can warm up people, animals, and objects, but not the air. You can only feel the warmth if you're close to the heater.
