What's cloud gaming?
Cloud gaming is a way to play games via the cloud. You don't need a powerful console, computer, or laptop for this. That's because you don't game locally on your device. Instead, you game in the cloud. You can play your game via the internet on a server of a game service. That server then streams the gameplay to your laptop. So the game doesn't run on your laptop. This means that you can easily play your favorite game on your laptop, even if you don't have a powerful laptop.
How do you use cloud gaming?
You can game via the cloud with a gaming service. For example, there's NVIDIA GeForce Now, Xbox cloud Gaming (Beta), or PlayStation Now. You need Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PlayStation Plus Premium for these platforms. Keep in mind that these services often have a monthly subscription basis. You can stream your gameplay from a server to your laptop via these platforms. Create an account with a gaming service and choose your favorite game. You can then connect to the server of the chosen platform via the internet and play your game.
What do you need?
A stable internet connection is the most important thing for cloud gaming. That's because you have to connect to the game service's server via the internet. If your internet connection isn't stable, there's a high chance of lags during your game. For a better gaming experience, we recommend at least a 120Hz refresh rate on your screen. This way, you can see fast-moving images smoothly. The higher the refresh rate, the better you can see the fast-moving images.
What type of internet connection do you need?
To play games without lags, you need a stable internet connection. The easiest way to do this is to connect an internet cable to your laptop via the Ethernet port. Doesn't your laptop have an Ethernet port? Connect a docking station. Depending on the resolution of your screen, you'll need a more powerful internet connection. With an HD screen, you need about 15Mbps to stream at 60 fps. With a Full HD screen, you need 25Mbps. The higher the resolution, the more data you have to transfer and receive via the internet to keep a sharp image.
