What does a dryer do with steam?
Dryer with steam
A dryer with steam has 2 different advantages. It varies per dryer which function it has. We distinguish:
- Freshening up with steam
- Reducing wrinkles
Freshen up with steam
If your clothes smell a bit musty after a day but have no stains, you can freshen them up. This saves you an extra wash cycle. Simply put your shirt in the dryer and turn on a steam cycle. The dryer adds steam and removes odors like cooking odors. These largely disappear from your clothes thanks to the steam. After the cycle, your laundry may be slightly damp. Hang it up for a while. You can find the fresh function on dryers from Beko, Haier, Miele, Samsung, and more.
Reduce wrinkles with steam
You can finish ironing faster if you have a dryer that reduces wrinkles with steam. You can use the steam cycle for a small load of laundry. That's useful if you have a lot of wrinkles in your shirt or dress shirt. The moisture from your laundry is collected in the condenser reservoir and adds steam. Choose Miele Steam or Beko IronFinish, for example. With these dryers, you'll have less ironing to do. There are also washing machines that reduce wrinkles with steam.
