How do you place the water filter in the WMF Perfection?
On this page, we'll show you how you can easily and quickly place the water filter in your WMF fully automatic machine. You should replace the water filter every 2 months. That way, you prevent limescale buildup in the pipes of your coffee machine. If you use a water filter, you only have to descale your coffee machine once per year.
Get started with the water filter
You can install the water filter in a few steps. This takes 10 minutes at most. We'll go through these steps:
- Step 1. Go to the correct settings of the machine
- Step 2. Remove the old water filter
- Step 3. Insert the new water filter and rinse thoroughly
You need:
- Water filter
- Container of at least 600ml
How often should you replace the water filter?
Replace the water filter of your WMF espresso machine every 2 months. This prevents limescale from damaging your coffee machine and keeps your fully automatic coffee machine in great condition. The machine will last a lot longer. You also preserve the best coffee taste.
Step 1: go to the right settings of the machine
- Press the settings button on the display.
- Select the option 'Replace filter'.
- Choose 'Replace filter' again.
- Remove the old water filter.
- Remove the water tank from the coffee machine.
- Use the attachment to unscrew the old water filter out of the water tank.
Step 2: install the water filter
- Turn the dial on top of the new water filter until the first number matches the month in which you install the water filter.
- The second number is the month that you need to replace the water filter in.
- Remove the attachment of the old water filter and attach it to the new one.
- Secure the water filter into the water tank.
- Fill the water tank and put it back into the coffee machine.
- Press 'OK' to confirm.
Step 3: rinse the water filter
- Put a container of 600ml under the coffee outlet.
- The machine starts rinsing for 5 minutes right away.
- When the rinsing is done, 'Installation completed' will appear on the display. Confirm this with 'OK'.
- Remove the container and empty it in the sink.
