3 tips to solve problems with your camera
If your camera doesn't turn on, or if you can't open the camera app, there are 3 ways to solve this. In the next paragraphs, we'll explain how to perform these tips step by step.
- Tip 1: perform a soft reset.
- Tip 2: update your smartphone.
- Tip 3: perform a hard reset.
Tip 1: perform a soft reset
A soft reset is the same as a restart. Go through the following steps for this:
- Press and hold the standby button.
- Release the button when the device turns off. This happens after about 10 seconds.
- Turn the device back on by pressing and holding the standby button.
Tip 2: update your smartphone
If you update your smartphone, it'll have the latest software. Follow these steps to update your device.
- Make sure your phone is at least charged to 60%. If it's not, charge the smartphone.
- Check if your smartphone is still connected to WiFi.
- Go to 'Settings'. That's the icon with the gearwheel.
- Scroll down and choose 'About this phone'.
- Tap on the 'MIUI version' tile. You can find this tile at the top right of your screen. The device will now check if there's an available update.
- Is there an update available? Tap 'Download update'.
- Is the download complete? Tap 'Restart now'.
Tip 3: perform a hard reset
With a hard reset, you revert the device to factory settings. This action is irreversible, so try the other tips first.
- Make a backup of your data. If you don't, you'll lose all your apps, files, and photos.
- Check if the battery is at least 60% charged or connect it to the charger.
- Tap the gearwheel icon to go to 'Settings'.
- Choose 'About this phone'.
- Tap 'Factory settings'.
- Then, tap the 'Delete all data' button at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter your PIN code and confirm your choice.
- A pop-up will appear. Wait 10 seconds, then tap 'Next'.
- On the next pop-up, wait 10 seconds again and tap 'OK'.
- Your device will now restart.
