How do you reset a JBL speaker?

When your JBL speaker doesn't connect to your phone properly anymore or produces a stuttering sound, it can help to reset it. The reset reverts the speaker back to factory settings, which helps to solve some errors. In this article, we'll explain how to reset different JBL speakers so you can listen to your favorite songs again undisturbed.

You reset many different JBL speakers in the same way, but sometimes the steps are slightly different for some speakers. We'll explain the different ways to reset a speaker, so you can quickly enjoy your music again undisturbed.

  • Reset JBL Charge, Flip, or Xtreme

  • Reset JBL Go or Pulse

  • Reset JBL Boombox or Clip

Reset the JBL Charge, Flip, or Xtreme

Charge 5
  1. Turn on the speaker.
  2. Press and hold the + button and the play/pause button at the same time until the circle around the Bluetooth and on/off buttons light up.
  3. Wait until the speaker turns off, you'll hear the sound you normally hear when you turn off the speaker.
  4. To check if the reset was successful, turn on the speaker. If it starts in pairing mode, the reset was successful.

Reset the JBL Go or Pulse

JBL Pulse
  1. Turn on the speaker.
  2. Press and hold the + button and the Bluetooth button at the same time until the buttons lights up.
  3. Wait until the speaker turns off, you'll hear the sound you normally hear when you turn off the speaker.
  4. To check if the reset was successful, turn on the speaker. If it starts in pairing mode, the reset was successful.

Reset the JBL Boombox or Clip

JBL Clip 5
  1. Turn on the speaker.
  2. Press and hold the + button and the play/pause button at the same time until the speaker turns off.
  3. When the speaker turns off, you'll hear the sound you normally hear when you turn off the speaker.
  4. To check if the reset was successful, turn on the speaker. If it starts in pairing mode, the reset was successful.

Reset the JBL Authentics

JBL Authentics 300
  1. Turn on the speaker.
  2. Press and hold the heart button and the play/pause button at the same time for 10 seconds.
  3. The reset is done when the speaker turns itself off and starts up again automatically.
