How do you descale your Nespresso Inissia?
On this page, we'll explain how to descale your Nespresso Inissia. We recommend you to do this every 6 months. When you descale our Nespresso machine, you don't give limescale the chance to buildup in the pipes of your machine. We'll explain how to descale your machine in 3 steps. That way, you can keep the best coffee taste and extend the lifespan of your machine.

You need:
- 1L container
- Nespresso descaler or a universal descaler

We recommend you to descale your Nespresso machine twice per year. Your Nespresso Inissa doesn't notify you, so you'll have to keep track of this yourself. Use the descaler by Nespresso or a universal descaler.
Step 1: prepare the descaling
- Turn on your Nespresso machine.
- Lift the handle to make the last-used cup fall into the container.
- Empty the container and drip tray and put them back.
- Place a 1L container under the coffee outlet.
- Fill the water tank with 500ml of water.
- Pour the Nespresso descaler or universal descaler into the water tank.
- Place the water tank back into the machine.
- Wait until the 2 buttons on top of the machine stop flashing.
Step 2: descale the machine
- Press and hold the 2 buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.
- The lights will flash rapidly. This means that descaling has been activated.
- Press the 'Lungo' button to start descaling.
- The machine starts descaling and stops once the water tank is empty.
- Take the water tank out of the machine and fill it with the content of the container.
- Press the 'Lungo' button on the machine to have it rinse with descaler.
- The machine will automatically stop descaling.
Step 3: rinse the machine
- Take the water tank out of the machine.
- Empty it and rinse it thoroughly.
- Fill the water tank with fresh tap water.
- Press the 'Lungo' button on the machine to have it rinse with water.
- Remove the container and empty it.
- Remove the drip tray, empty it, and put it back.
- Press and hold the 2 buttons at the same time for 3 seconds to turn off the descaling mode.
- The buttons will now flash for 25 seconds to heat up the machine.
- The Nespresso Inissia has now been descaled successfully and is ready for use.
