How do you degrease your Philips 2200 and 3300 coffee machine?

By degreasing your Phillips 2200 and 3300 once every month, you prevent defects and blockages. With a Philips degreasing tablet, you remove all coffee oil residue from the pipes of your coffee machine. In this article, we'll explain how to do this.

Get started with degreasing

We'll explain how to degrease your Philips 2200 and 3300 in a couple of steps. These are the steps we'll go through:

  1. Prepare the degreasing process.
  2. Degrease the machine with the degreasing tablet.
  3. Clean the brew group.
  4. Rinse the machine 2 more times with fresh water.

Repeat the steps above every month. That way, you prevent defects and blockages. The degreasing tablets remove coffee oil residue from the pipes, so they don't get clogged.

Step 1: prepare the degreasing process

Prepare the degreasing process
  1. Place a cup that holds at least 100ml below the coffee outlet.
  2. Remove the water tank from the machine and fill it with fresh water.
  3. Put the water tank back in the machine.
  4. Press the button that says 'coffee' and hold down the button for the coffee intensity for 3 seconds.
  5. The light for ground coffee will now burn.

Step 2: degrease the machine

Place the tablet
  1. Place the degreasing tablet in the compartment for ground coffee.
  2. Press the start/stop button.
  3. The machine will now release water mixed with the tablet.
  4. Once the cup is half-full of water, you pull the plug of the machine out of the socket.
  5. Wait for 15 minutes.
  6. Put the plug back into the socket.
  7. Turn the machine back on and the process will pick up where it left off.
  8. Remove the cup and the water tank after the process.

Step 3: clean the brew group

Clean the brew group
  1. Open the door behind the water tank.
  2. Remove the brew group from the machine. Press the buttons that say 'push' together and pull the brew group towards you.
  3. Thoroughly rinse the brew group with lukewarm water.
  4. Put the brew group back in the machine and close the door.
  5. Put the water tank in the machine and place a cup below the coffee outlet.

Step 4: rinse the machine

Rinse the machine
  1. Press the button that says 'coffee' and hold down the button for the coffee intensity for 3 seconds.
  2. The light for ground coffee will now burn.
  3. Press the start/stop button.
  4. Let the machine rinse.
  5. Press the button that says 'coffee' for the last time and hold down the button for the coffee intensity for 3 seconds.
  6. The light for ground coffee will burn again.
  7. Press the start/stop button.
  8. Let the machine rinse.
  9. You've now finished degreasing your machine.
