4 tips to dry your laundry quickly

When you pull your favorite outfit from the washing machine all nice and clean, you'll want to put it on as soon as possible. Doing the laundry can't go fast enough. If you want to dry your laundry faster, you should put less laundry in the drum or dry at a higher temperature. Here, you can read a couple of tips that'll help dry your laundry faster.

Get started on drying your laundry quickly

Dry quickly

To dry your laundry as quickly and efficiently as possible, we've listed a couple of tips for you.

  • Tip 1: sort your laundry
  • Tip 2: don't overload the drum
  • Tip 3: use a fast dryer cycle
  • Tip 4: dry at a higher temperature

Tip 1: sort your laundry

Sort laundry

To dry your laundry as efficiently as possible, you sort them based on the type of fabric. For example, your T-shirts shouldn't be in the same cycle as your thick towels. Thick fabrics need more time to dry, so the dryer cycle takes a lot longer. Did you put all of your favorite cotton shirts in the drum at the same time? They'll dry more quickly and more effectively. The dryer cycle won't go on for longer than necessary for your shirts, so your clothes will look beautiful for longer.

Tip 2: don't overload the drum

No overloaded drum

Do you have a heat pump dryer and do you want to dry your clothes quickly? Put a small load in the drum. A heat pump dryer doesn't use a heating element, so the drying temperature is a lot lower. This is better for your laundry, but it takes a little longer before it's dry. If you put in less laundry at the same time, more air can reach your clothes. That way, you can put your outfit back on in no time.

Tip 3: use a fast dryer cycle

Fast dryer cycle

Some dryers have a special fast dryer cycle. This cycle usually dries a couple of clothing items in one hour or even in 30 minutes. That's useful if you want to quickly dry a single outfit. Your favorite pants, T-shirt, and dress shirt will be ready for your dinner party soon.

Tip 4: dry at a higher temperature

Hot dryer cycle

If you want to dry your clothes quickly, it helps if you use a higher drying temperature. Do you have a condenser dryer? These have a higher drying temperature than a heat pump dryer by default. That's because of the heating element. Do you have a heat pump dryer? Check if it has a special hot cycle. For example, an anti-allergy cycle for thick fabrics or a manual dryer cycle with hot air. Keep in mind that hot air isn't very good for your clothes. You don't want to dry your delicate laundry at a temperature that's too high.
